Retro Wavy Abstract Wool Rug, Hand Tufted Cream Burnt Orange Blue Kids Area Rug

A river of burnt orange and a cool tide of sky blue curl through warm cream wool on this retro wavy abstract rug, hand tufted in 100% NZ wool. We clip the high-low pile by hand, so every wave stands out and feels soft underfoot. It's shown here as a rectangle, but we make each rug to order, so just send us your size.

It's lovely in a living room, beside a bed, or anywhere that needs a bit of 70s warmth, and it makes a thoughtful housewarming gift.

Perfect for
Picture a slow Sunday, coffee in hand, feet on soft wool that sinks a little underfoot. This rug suits anyone who likes a room with some personality: mid century chairs, a few plants, a record player in the corner. If your floor is already covered, try layering it over a larger neutral jute or flatweave rug so the waves sit up like a framed picture.

Care
In the first few weeks you'll see some fluff in the vacuum. That's loose fibre from the clipping, and it settles down. Vacuum without a beater bar so the carved lines stay crisp, and blot spills straight away instead of rubbing them. For a deep stain, a professional rug cleaner is your safest bet.

Good to know
• This is an indoor rug only; it isn't suited to bathrooms, laundry rooms or outdoor spaces.
• • The back is cotton canvas bonded with latex, so the rug isn't reversible.
• Colors can look slightly different on different screens.
• Because it's made by hand, the final size can vary a little from the order, and the carved lines won't be machine-perfect. We think that's part of its charm.
• High pile can catch on pet claws.

Gifting
If someone you love has just moved, a rug is the thing that makes an empty room feel like theirs. This one brings warmth and color on day one, and we're happy to make it in whatever size their new space needs.
