Dusty Terracotta Striped Wool Rug, Hand Tufted Mustard Ivory Mid Century Area Rug

This rug has warm terracotta stripes running up and down and side to side, with soft cream and grey curves sweeping through them. A row of little raised squares runs down the middle, and there's a touch of mustard yellow along the edge. It has a cozy, retro 70s feel that works well in a living room, bedroom or home office.

We make it by hand in 100% New Zealand wool. The pile is clipped by hand at different heights, so the stripes and squares stand up a little, and it feels soft and thick underfoot.

Perfect For
Picture it under a low walnut coffee table, or at the foot of a bed with cream linen. If your place leans mid century or you just like warm earth tones, it pulls the room together without shouting. It also works under a desk in a home office, in a calm nursery, or in a wide entryway.

Care
Vacuum on suction only, without the beater bar, which can pull at the tufts. New wool sheds a bit at first. That's normal, and it settles after a few weeks. Blot spills straight away with a dry cloth; don't rub. For deep stains, a professional rug cleaner is your best bet.

Good to know
• The back is cotton cloth bonded with latex, so it's one-sided and for indoor use only. Keep it away from bathrooms, laundry rooms and damp floors.
• Every rug is made by hand, so expect small differences in size and in how the curves sit, usually within a couple of inches. That's part of a hand-clipped surface, not a fault.
• Colors can look a little different on different screens.
• The raised pile can catch on pet claws.
