Terracotta Mushroom Gill Area Rug, Modern Abstract Hand Tufted Wool Textured Rug

A terracotta abstract rug like the underside of a mushroom cap, with soft clay and brick-red pools in between. We hand tuft every piece in 100% NZ wool and clip the pile high-low by hand, so the lines catch the light and feel soft underfoot.

It’s a modern area rug that sits easily in a living room or bedroom, or under a desk in a home office. Every rug is made to order, so send us your measurements and we’ll make it in a custom size that fits your floor.

Perfect For
Put it under a pale sofa and the terracotta does the warming that paint usually has to. In a bedroom it’s soft to step onto first thing. If you like layering, it sits well over a flat jute rug that’s a little bigger all round.

Care
We’ve lived with wool rugs for years, and the honest truth is they shed at first. That’s loose fibre from the clipping, and it settles down with regular vacuuming. Use suction only, no beater bar. Blot spills straight away; don’t rub. For deep stains, a professional rug cleaner is worth it.

Before You Order
• It’s for indoor use only, and it isn’t reversible: the back is a latex-bonded cotton cloth.
• Colors can look slightly different on screens.
• Because it’s handmade, the size can vary a little.
• The clipped grooves can catch crumbs and pet claws, so it’s not ideal under a dining table.

Gifting
For someone moving into their first home, newlyweds, or anyone who loves a warm room, a rug is a gift they’ll stand on every day. Tell us if it’s a gift and we’ll leave the price off the paperwork. (Seller to confirm you offer this.)

Let’s Make Yours
